CDPS Parent Handbook 2024

Free Kinder

CDPS will continue to opt-in to Free Kinder for 2024. As a result, there will not be any term fees for 3YO or 4YO programs in 2024.

Enrolment Security Deposit  

As part of the enrolment process, a security deposit of $1000 per child will be required to secure your child’s position at CDPS. The deposit will be refundable in Term 1, but at your election, you may donate that amount as a voluntary contribution to CDPS (see above – Voluntary Contributions).

Optional Voluntary Contributions

From 2023, our CDPS families will benefit from the Victorian State Government’s ‘Free Kinder’ initiative. This is an optional program which CDPS is a participating kindergarten, and it provides certain funding based on the full 15-hours per week program.

Unfortunately, the government funding is not sufficient to cover the full cost of operating a community-based kindergarten, and it will impact the longer-term financial viability of CDPS.

To enable CDPS to continue to provide a high quality educational experience for children attending CDPS, we ask all parents for a voluntary contribution, which is a once-off and recommended amount of $800 per child per year, or other amount as nominated by parents that covers the full year of the kindergarten program. The financial support provided through a voluntary contribution will directly support specialist incursion programs, procurement of shared supplies, equipment and ongoing maintenance requirements.

Please note:  Due to Free Kinder for 2024 there are no discounts applicable to valid Concession Card holders.  Valid concession card holders should contact the Fees Officer to discuss the security deposit fees@canterburykinder.org.au

Enrolments

All enrolments are managed by the Boroondara Kindergarten Central Enrolment Scheme (BKCES).
